Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ Faces Extended Delays Due to Elections and Other Projects

Actor and politician Pawan Kalyan is currently focused on upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh, putting his film projects on hold. He won’t resume shooting until after May, dedicating his time to political campaigning.

Following this break, Kalyan will prioritize completing Sujeeth’s gangster film “OG,” scheduled for a September release. With promotions planned on a pan-Indian scale, “OG” is a major focus for the actor.

This delay significantly impacts “Ustaad Bhagat Singh,” an adaptation of the Tamil hit “Theri.” Director Harish Shankar began filming but has since moved on to another project, “Mr. Bachchan,” starring Ravi Teja.

“Mr. Bachchan” is expected to wrap by June, and rumors suggest Harish Shankar might collaborate with actor Chiranjeevi next. If confirmed, this new project would further delay “Ustaad Bhagat Singh.”

Chiranjeevi’s current film, “Vishwambhara,” requires extensive VFX work and is expected to finish shooting by September. Even with his usual fast pace, Harish Shankar wouldn’t be available to direct “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” before January or February of next year.

Adding to the delays, Pawan Kalyan has another film, “Hari Hara Veera Mallu,” to complete after “OG.” With casting for the villain of “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” yet to be finalized and music composer Devi Sri Prasad not having delivered any tracks, it appears the film might not resume production at all in 2024.
